TUBE & BAR TESTING
In addition to building ultrasonic inspection systems TACTIC has a commercial test lab which tests tubes and round, square and hexagonal bars for companies throughout the country. This material is tested and certified to our customer's specifications. Our laboratory systems and procedures have been approved by many of the major suppliers and users of material for critical applications in the aerospace, nuclear, automotive, chemical and other important industries.
INSTRUMENT CALIBRATION
We also provide certified and NIST-traceable calibration for many types of ultrasonic instruments and strip chart recorders. ASTM E 317 is an example of one of the standards to which we work. We also repair several types of instruments made by various manufacturers. Calibration and/or repair may be done in our plant or on-site in the user's plant.
TRANSDUCER PROFILING
Transducers of various materials and types are checked in our test lab. Reports are provided showing profiles in two directions and focal length measurement for focused units.
REFERENCE BLOCK CERTIFICATION
Since NIST stopped offering this service in 2003 we have been ultrasonically checking and certifying reference test blocks of various materials to ASTM E 127 and E 428 standard procedures with instruments that have themselves been calibrated by means traceable to NIST standards.
